Altar Society
Membership in the Altar Society is open to all women of the parish who
wish to participate. Traditionally, the Altar Society’s functions had been
to furnish items needed in the worship service, such as vestments, sacred
vessels, candles, etc. In addition, the women provide a most important
ministry to the parish in the form of providing meals to bereaved
families after the funeral Mass for loved ones. The women provide
baby clothes for Birthright, help with Autumnfest, and hold a reception
for Confirmation students. The annual parish wide garge sale is held
by the Altar Sociey to benefit the Building Fund for the Parish Center.
Social activities such as an annual trip to Tunica, participating in the
Parish Chili Supper, and our Christmas party during which we supply
Christmas girts for nursing home residents, provide fellowship, fun and
a good way to get to know new members and visit with old friends.
The ladies meet on the first Wednesday of the month every month
except for June, July, and August, at 6:30 pm in the Parish Center.
Dues are $10.00 per year.
